- Is mental illness associated with violence? According to most of these sites mental illness is directlay linked with violence as emotional and mental instability can result in violence?
- However very few people will say that it is the ill person's fault, maybe because many people are too scared to confront the question?
- I have to point out however that retarded people are 2 and a half times more likely to be a victim of violence than those who are not?1
Insanity is an legal excuse for committing a crime. I guess I can safely conclude that the judicial's system view is that it is not their fault.
Here is what I think:
ReplyDeletepeople with mental illness are incapable of knowing evil from good. That area of their brain is just not functioning. They can't plan it out, they can't avoid it if they do some bad things, and they can not assume the consequences of their actions. I have never seen mentally ill people that go to court and get punished and I will never see it.

Well how do you know what kind of mental illness they were talking about. Are we talking about the Lennie/Charlie type kind or the jail, messed up, insane ones. Insanity is NOT the same as mental diability.
